Higher Education / University

At 18 and over you have the following options:

  • Progress to Higher Education (If you have completed a level 3, you could go to University or start a Higher-level Apprenticeship)
  • Progress to Further Education (If you have not yet completed a level 3, you could begin this now)
  • Apprenticeships
  • Employment

If you are thinking of going to University, UCAS is a great place to start your research. You do not need to choose between a work-related qualification and a degree, if you have a level 3 qualification from an apprenticeship, you may be able to study a related subject at University, or even start a Higher-Level Apprenticeship.

While you could now begin full-time employment, we would always advise that apprenticeships are a better option as they enable you to gain qualifications while you earn. They may increase your earning potential in the long-term.
